Our mission is to provide excellence in emergency care to companion animals while showing compassion and understanding to their owners when the primary care veterinarian is not available.
Salem Veterinary Emergency Clinic has been a community leader in veterinary emergency medicine for more than 25 years, and is the choice of area veterinarians for urgent, emergency, and critical care referrals
What To Expect When You Get Here
When you get to our clinic and approach the front doors, there will be a doorbell on the right side of the door. The doors will be locked, so you will need to ring the doorbell. A staff member will press a button that will unlock the doors. If you need assistance, we have a rolling stretcher available and can help you bring in your sick or injured pet. All pets are required to be contained, either by leash or in a box, while in the clinic. There will be paperwork to fill out and then a staff member will check the patient into a room.
We triage and evaluate each case that comes in, so cases will be seen in the order of severity, with the most critical patients being seen first. Like a human emergency room, waiting times may vary. Once checked into a room, the technician will obtain a history from you and also record the patient’s vital signs and weight. The veterinarian will come in and perform a complete physical examination on your pet. After the examination is completed, we will be able make a treatment plan and estimate based on the needs of your pet.
